Indian Trails Sports Complex adds lights to fields 6–8, opening all multipurpose fields to night play
Palm Coast has finished installing 10 new lights on multipurpose fields 6–8 at Indian Trails Sports Complex. Fields 1–5 were already lit. A Flagler County tourism grant covered half of the $714,494 cost.

All of the multipurpose fields at Palm Coast's Indian Trails Sports Complex now have lights. The city has finished installing 10 new lights on multipurpose fields 6, 7 and 8.
Fields 1 through 5 already had lights. Parks and Recreation Director James Hirst said in the city's Oct. 7 announcement that the new lights open up "a number of possibilities for evening and nighttime play year-round on all of our multipurpose fields." He added that the city knows such play "has been in demand for some time."
Who pays
The project cost $714,494. The Flagler County Tourism Development Office paid for half of it through a $357,247 grant. The grant came from the Tourist Development Council's capital funding project program, and the Flagler County Commission awarded it on May 18.
Who uses the fields
The 164-acre complex hosts several local leagues each year, including Palm Coast Little League and multiple soccer leagues, as well as tournaments. Hirst said the fields have hosted thousands of games since the complex opened. Its newest tenant is the Palm Coast Big Buoys baseball team, which just finished its first season.
Families should check with their league or team for evening practice and game schedules.
Other recent changes at the complex
The lighting project follows other work at the facility. The city recently added traffic safety enhancements and a new parking lot with a drop-off loop.
The city lists more information about the complex and its other parks on its Parks and Recreation webpage, palmcoast.gov/parks-and-recreation.
